Grief over failure...

Met this dragon by chance when she was surrounded by Dragonslayers. I stepped in to fight by her side and protect her from them. It was a fierce battle and I was focused on my own battles...perhaps too focused...all it took was an arrow to the heart and the Dragonslayers had met their mark...The great dragon fell...I failed to protect her...They knocked me down and escaped, proud of their achievement...bloodied and injured, I went to the dying dragon and kneeled before it.

"Don't let my death be in vain young one...those men slew my family...and now I hand my responsibility to you to avenge the death of my families...and mine..." muttered the dragon in my mind. And with that, she breathes in her final breath....and her heart grew still...

I cried...no words could describe my grief....my failure...It was my fault that she died...

Those men are going to pay dearly...I'll stab their hearts just like they did to that dragon....
